Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) prohibit discrimination against individuals with disabilities.

In a college setting, it’s the student’s responsibility to request accommodations, if desired. Not every student with a disability needs an accommodation; and even though two individuals may have the same disability, they may not need the same accommodation. Every student is unique, each with her own distinct gifts, talents, strengths and challenges.

We connect students with resources to help them better accomplish their educational goals. Some of the tools we offer, like our reading technology software, are useful for students with and without disabilities. We’re here to help all of our students reach their greatest potential.

We offer consulation and problem solving hours students, faculty and staff every Monday and Friday at 10:00. In addition we offer a daily 1:00 crisis hour for students. Faculty/Staff are welcome to use this daily 1:00 hour for questions/consultation about a disability related issue, however a student with a crisis will take priority. Please feel free to use these times to problem solve any issues that may arise involving a student with a disability. Be aware that because of confidentiality issues we are unable to disclose information about a student without the students written consent. If you would like to consult about the details of a particular student we encourage you to seek the consent of the student through an authorization form.
